On November 6, 2023, the SUN Business Network in Mozambique (SBNMOZ) launched the 4th NutriDeal Edition, a collaborative initiative involving the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA), and the Institute for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises (IPEME). NutriDeal is a comprehensive program dedicated to enhancing the growth and resilience of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Mozambique. The launch event marked the commencement of an intensive training program scheduled from November 7 to 21, 2023. During this initial phase of NutriDeal, over 80 companies from across the country have enrolled, with a particular emphasis on various aspects of food systems, including services, research, production, processing, marketing, and food preparation. IPEME will conduct training sessions encompassing production techniques, processing, preservation, and the marketing of safe and nutritious food. These sessions will also address business planning, financial management, marketing strategies, and honing skills for effective business model presentations to potential investors. Following this training, the SUN PITCH Competition will be held from November 22 to 30, 2023. During this phase, the trained companies will be tasked with presenting their innovative business models to a specialized jury, focusing on inventive approaches to the production, processing, and distribution of nutritious and safe food. The three most outstanding concepts will receive prizes to further invest in their businesses.
